The Skyline Cross Country teams will travel to Grand Rapids, MI to attend a Cross Country training camp at Calvin College. This trip will include group activities, team bonding, and training sessions. We will have multiple group activities, training sessions, and have an opportunity to meet former U.S. Olympian Brian Diemer. Along with practice sessions, the team will be involved in the Calvin College community, through a team community service project on campus, attending an admissions seminar held by representatives of the Calvin College admissions staff, and a campus tour.
We will be departing Wednesday 8/9/2017 and be returning Saturday 8/12/2017. Below you will find the necessary forms and permission slips needed in order to attend the camp. Please contact Coach Takashi or Coach Ro with any questions or concerns.
Transportation is not organized through the team. Athletes will be responsible for their own travel arrangements (parent carpool) and the group will be meeting at Calvin College at 1:00pm on 8/9/17. We are anticipating around 35-40 athletes attending, and hoping for 6-7 parent chaperones, and 5 coaches (Rolando Eccleston, Takashi Gould, Brooke Bons, Tom Voorheis and Alex Moran, who are all first aid/CPR certified). The nearest medical facility is the Spectrum Health System in Grand Rapids. Cost of Camp is $175.00
